Tea Cloth: Doily Pattern
Design Story
Doilies have become precious keepsakes. In District Six they were starched and ironed to perfection, and were often displayed on old ball-and-claw or wrought iron furniture. They took pride of place on sideboards, bedroom dressers, and passageway and dining room tables. The craft of intricate pattern making was traditionally passed down through generations or became family heirlooms. This print is a celebration of contemporary colour and bespoke design, reflective of District Six’s rich cultural traditions.
This beautifully printed tea cloth can be stylishly matched with an apron or oven mitt of your choice. It features a two-colour design, screen-printed onto basket weave fabric. Fully machine washable.
