This spirited account of the District Six neighbourhood was captured through the  lenses of photographers George Hallett, Clarence Coulsen, Jackie Heyns, Wilfred Paulse and Gavin Jantjes. These photographs to take us on a moving journey through the extraordinary elegance of the everyday.

Through their collective reflections we become privy to intimate relationships and spaces, bringing together a pictorial documentation that has a deep connection with the tactile reality of the vibrant life of the District Six community.
